Function
For our General Cargo department, we are looking for an Freight Forwarder (Export) to strengthen our team. This role is an allround export position with a strong operational focus.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end handling of export and cross-trade shipments and work closely with colleagues, customers, shipping lines and partners worldwide.
Key responsibilities:
- Full operational handling of export and cross-trade files
- Registration and management of orders in the forwarding system
- Booking shipments with shipping lines, agents and transport partners
- Preparing and checking transport and shipping documents
- Following up shipments from booking until final delivery
- Daily communication with customers, agents and suppliers
- Proactive problem solving in case of deviations or issues
- Cost control and administrative follow-up of files
- Commercially responsible for your customer portfolio, building strong relationships and proactively identifying growth opportunities
Profile
- You have a degree in logistics or equivalent experience in freight forwarding
- Several years of experience in ocean import forwarding is preferred
- You work accurately, structured and are stress-resistant
- You take ownership of your files and provide proactive communication
- Strong customer-oriented mindset
- Proficient in Dutch and English
