Local expertise on a global scale

In line with UN Sustainable Development Goal 10 Reduced Inequalities Fracht Belgium supported the Laudato Si’ socio-ecological initiative of Sant’Egidio. They joined other volunteers to wrap gifts destined for individuals in need, including homeless people, refugees, people with disabilities, lonely elderly individuals, and underprivileged children. The offi ce has also donated 16 desktops that Fracht Polytra Belgium was not using anymore to the Close the Gap enterprise This is a social enterprise that aims to bridge the digital divide by providing high-quality, pre-owned IT devices. 16 of their 18 donated desktops were able to be used to close the gap

Our European colleagues recently wrapped up a fantastic initiative called “March in March,” a virtual step challenge that saw teams from across Europe embark on a virtual journey from Ireland to Basel. Representing their countries with iconic Eurovision characters, they tracked their steps and competed to see who could reach Basel fi rst. It was a great way to promote well-being, foster some friendly competition, and welcome our newest member to the family: Ireland. Congratulations to Sweden and Ireland for reaching Basel within less than a month, and to all the participating teams for their incredible effort and team spirit!
